Backstory Cards: Expansion #1 is a 45-card expansion containing three themed decks (15 cards each) for Backstory Cards for Foundry VTT.
Distant Worlds contains prompts that touch on vast travel, legends of lost civilizations, advanced technology, and other themes that fit hard sci-fi and fantastical space opera narratives.
Unseen Threats contains prompts for horror and investigation separately—you can incorporate just the horror cards for survival or action horror, the investigative cards for conspiracy or detective narratives, and of course blend them together for full investigative horror.
Wicked Shadows gets into themes of cyberpunk, something modern noir, and stories from the classic film noir era, as different expressions of the same core ideas: lawlessness, desperation, vigilantism, loose morality, and so on.

About Backstory Cards
Backstory Cards help you and your friends create vibrant backstories for roleplaying games, no matter the system or genre.
Backstory Cards blend your characters and setting concept into an intriguing set of relationships and history. About the Module
This module can be used with any game system for Foundry Virtual Tabletop, which is required to use this software. Foundry VTT requires a Foundry VTT license.
The module includes interactive Journal Entries for prompt cards as well as New Tags.
- A Card Stack from which you can draw text-based prompt cards with selectable text and expandable tag definitions.
- Journal Entries containing List of Tags, Player Tips, GM Tips, Arrow Diagram, Prompt Card Anatomy, and the complete Backstory Cards Techniques Guide.
- The ability to create a mixed deck to combine your core deck and expansions into one.
- Settings for automatically excluding cards with unwanted tags.
- Light and dark mode versions of fillable setting grid Scenes that include a virtual table for arranging PC tokens to use with the Arrow Diagram when determining intraparty connections.
- Journal Entries linked to imported setting grids with each page linked to each setting element and labels syncing between the setting grid and Journal Entry.
- Macros for drawing prompt cards and rolling a Backstory Die to randomly select another PC from around the table or a setting element in the scene.
