Pirate Ruins Shore
Battlemap Pack by Scott Docherty (Venger's Decks)
This bundle pack includes grid and gridless 40x30 maps with day, night, inland, greyscale, and animated variants. On an otherwise empty shoreline, the ruins or wreck of a ship is spotted. Most of the vessel has broken off, leaving only the remnants of the bow and the ship's bell. The wreck is partially covered by palm trees, and as the water laps up onto the shore, beyond the trees and foliage can be spotted the stone ruins of an old settlement. The sunlight darts through the trees, warming the bow, the creaking of wood as it expands the only sound noted above the waves.
Encounter Hook
As the party explores the wreckage of the old pirate vessel, the partly-submerged bell rings once, evidently of its own volition. It might have been the water moving the clapper onto the bell's mouth. But then it rings again, and again, as though sounding the alarm, and emerging from the shallow waters of the shore rise the crew of the wrecked ship, returning to defend against those who might plunder their ill-gotten treasures.
